Because You Deserve It

Let's start the walk!

A memorial fountain

Pray for wisdom - for a just ruler and nation!

Magistrate Court

Entrance to Anglican Church

In the 1790s this place is used for afternoon tea, where people socialise.

A memorial

I think there were more skills injected in old buildings. And they stand for hundreds of years!

Will all the J's please stand up? :P

Everyone snapping away...

Beautiful white pillars. But don't be a white-washed tomb, make sure our hearts are washed as well.

Standing majestically on the ground
Loved the words on the wall

They were drawing...

Ain't it amazing?

Stewart Lane

From the windows, you can tell which generation the building is built :D

Uncle making incense

Set out to dry

Kedai tuak!

Not the house of X-Men but the x-es on the wall were used to hold 2 walls together.

There are 3 patterned leaves on this one tree!

Don't be dry, let your blessing flow...

Red bricks houses belong to the Hokkiens

You are the king of my heart...

Old Han Chiang school

Everyone's resting...

Love the old bicycle

Love the ferry...

Love the old fan...

Escape way in Khoo Kongsi

Cheah Kongsi

My lovely colleagues...

Over his shoulders...

Let our life be a blessing to others.

Amber Chia Academy, Penang: If I Am Not For Myself, Who Will Be?

I've finally completed Glee Season 2. And in episode 18: Born This Way, Will used Lady Gaga's Born This Way for a lesson about self-acceptance. It was a great episode and I loved how almost everyone came to grips with their flaws.

You've gotta watch it and be inspired to embrace the things about yourself that you don't like the same way the casts reflected the traits they have learn to accept: Artie's Four Eyes, Brittany's I'm With Stoopid (upwards arrow), Finn's Can't Dance, Kurt's Likes Boys, Lauren's Bad Attitude, Mercedes' No Weave!, Mike's Can't Sing, Puck's I'm With Stupid (downwards arrow), Quinn's Lucy Caboosey, Sam's Trouty Mouth, Santana's Bitch, Tina's Brown Eyes, Emma's OCD, Rachel's Nose and Will's Butt Chin.

Some two years ago, I wrote I Wish I Were because I had always thought I was not good enough. And though I know that nobody can make me feel less worthy without my permission, I believe that some traits can be groomed.

Like makeup, modelling (or just walking) and photography.

If you haven't heard, Amber Chia Academy is not only available in the Central. It is now available in Penang as well!

Together with other fabulous bloggers, I was honoured to grace the Grand Opening of Amber Chia Academy (Penang) last Saturday, 8 July 2011.

A big heartfelt thanks to for the exclusive invite. Otherwise this wouldn't be my first event. *wink* And secondly, thanks to Ms Glo-w for deeming me worthy as her partner in crime.

Bloggers & team with Amber Chia

What I love about them is they are real people. Even the tall and skinny were once inferior of their giant-height and skeletal limbs. The bubbly and outspoken were once quiet and shy (like me!). It's truly not how much you can earn or who you can attract after the course, but who you become.
Amber said, "There are no ugly people. There are only many lazy people."
Beauty is one thing and makeup is another. Although I do agree that makeup enhances beauty, what it really does is not so much of enhancing but makeup exudes your personalities for different occasions. If you also believe in painting personalities and making a great impact on lives, Amber Chia Academy's Makeup Courses is for you. Learn more about the Course Outline, Duration and Fees here.
Benjamin Toong said, "As a person, you should know how to walk."
Your best RM10,000 dress will be de-valued if you do not know how to carry yourself with flair. Likewise, if you style up a nice RM50 dress and walk with finesse, you'll feel like a million dollar baby!
If your dream is to strut the runway, grace the cover of a magazine or simply to feel confident and walk with poise, you are in great care of Amber Chia herself and renown catwalk guru, Benjamin Toong in the Modelling Courses. This course is not to make you an Amber Chia or a Benjamin Toong, but the course is designed to bring out the best of you! Learn more about the Course Outline, Duration and Fees here.

With Benjamin who can strut perfectly in a 9"

We know there are many photo-enthusiasts these days, and some of you are wondering where to start. Look no further and just ask the industry professional when you enroll in the Photography Courses. One of the highlights of the course is that you will also be equipped with knowledge on setting up, managing and marketing your own photography studio upon completion. It's truly all that you need! Learn more about the Course Outline, Duration and Fees.

The gurus (Benjamin, Amber, Desmond Yoi) with Kelvin Khoo

The sponsors who made the Grand Opening a blast: Hotel Equatorial Penang, Dreamz Productions, kelv (the brainchild of Kelvin Khoo), Prudential and Western Spices.

So what the heck? Show the world who you really are... with a (respectful) attitude and character.

Strut over to Amber Chia Academy's Open Day located at 34, 1st Floor, Jalan Burmah 10500 Penang this Saturday, 16 July 2011 from 10.00am-6.00pm to find out more about the Professional Courses. If you're lost finding your way, call 04-2281 291 for help.

Meanwhile, check out Amber Chia Academy (Penang) on Facebook!

You are valuable... not because of what you do or what you have done, but simply because you are. Remember that.

Tui-Tshu : Homecoming @ Chai Diam Ma

Penang Lalalilatampong Unites
9-31 July 2011

In conjunction with the George Town Festival, the celebration entitled Homecoming at Chai Diam Ma was held on Saturday, 9 July 2011 with feature performance, installation, video and a photography exhibition.

Jom! Let's tui-tshu @ Chai Diam Ma.

We arrived at 8.15pm just in time for the first feature performance.

Managed to squeeze into the main hall.

A well-presented feature performance in Hokkien.

Little Mousey and Big Mouse.

We laughed our hearts out :D

Penang may not be as glamourous as KL, but it's home.

On their way to Kuala Lumpur - the big city with more food!

But too much competition for food!

Take a bite on an apple, not!

I want beansss...! But no beans for the mouseys.

Fighting for food :) hiak! hiak!

Home is where the heart is...

Love the buttons!

D'you see me among the angels?

 Photography exhibition.

A very moving performance!

A thought struck me after the performance as I embraced the wall art.
Between man and God. God will not wake up one day and tell you he doesn't love you anymore.

Love the red bench... missing my childhood years ;)

"Home life is no more natural to us than a cage is natural to a cockatoo"
- George Bernard Shaw

Ah... after a long day. A rest would be perfect.

But not so much of comfort because the bed is mounted on the wall...

One of the girls in the organising team took the photos and converted them into postcards.

We write a postcard and the organiser will post them! Free of charge!
Fingers crossed, hopefully the postcard reaches home.

If you recall, we've been to Chai Diam Ma for dinner some months ago.
But Homecoming @ Chai Diam Ma was fantabulous!

If you missed the Homecoming launch last Saturday, fret not because the exhibition will still be opened to the public until 7 August 2011.
